Haley Balcanoff
Haley is interested in how elements of horticulture, ecology and art can be combined in urban environments. She grew up in rural upstate New York, where most of her time was spent engaging with nature. An interest in the relationship between the natural and built environment sparked when she moved to New York City. With the expansion of urban growth, the presence of natural systems is vital to the health of cities and their inhabitants. She seeks to bridge this gap in sustainable, plant-based ways.
